Before You Head Home on Sunday: a Theme Room at East Castle Macau Spa

At three o’clock on a Sunday afternoon, five pale green Portuguese houses stand in a row along Avenida da Praia at the Taipa Houses, their white window frames bright in the low sun. Old banyan trees grow in front of them, then a stone railing, then a stretch of wetland, and across the water the Cotai hotels are no more than outlines in the haze. If you are not leaving Macau until Sunday, this is the afternoon you still have free.

Perhaps you came for Halloween on Saturday 31 October, or for the 73rd Macau Grand Prix, 19 to 22 November 2026. Either way, Sunday 1 November or Sunday 22 November is the day you go home. That afternoon a private car waits outside your hotel, and the ride back later goes straight to the ferry terminal, border crossing or airport you are leaving from. Over twenty themed rooms

Scenario rooms in Macau began at East Castle. Behind one door is an aircraft cabin, behind another a boxing ring, behind another a gym: more than twenty settings in all. The room is already part of the price of a session, so whichever setting you pick, the bill stays the same.

If you already have a setting in mind, or only know whether you would like something quiet or something unusual, tell us in your message. We find out from the venue which rooms are still free that Sunday and come back with two or three to choose from.

The October board

The price board East Castle uses now went up on 7 October 2026, and its levels run from MOP 2,188 to 6,388. Service charge and tourism tax are built into those figures, so the number on the board is the number you settle at the end. Prices follow what the venue posts on the day, and if the board changes we will tell you when we reply to your booking.

Two things come only with booking through this site. The first is the private car, free of charge, with the ride back arranged in advance. The second is one free add-on, such as a head massage, a hand massage or a pedicure, which you pick once you are inside. It happens after your session, done by a different masseur on a lounger in the rest area.

Once the door closes

On a first visit to East Castle, the venue’s staff stay with you at each step. If you would like the outline beforehand, our first-timer’s guide has it. The theme room is only the opening act. What stays with guests is the hour after it, a one to one session between you and your therapist, and what surprises that main act holds is yours to discover. Plenty of guests, still looking thoroughly content, are already asking how to book the next one before they head home.

Food at East Castle

At East Castle the food is part of what you pay. The kitchen does steak, fried rice, lamb and sandwiches, and there is coffee, juice and milk tea, while spirits and wine are charged separately. Between your session and the ride home there is time to sit down to a proper meal.

Common questions

On a Sunday afternoon, when do the therapists start?

Therapists are on from 15:00 until 06:00 the next morning. The venue itself is open 24 hours.

After my session, can I lie down for a while before I leave?

Yes. There is a lounge in the main hall, and a separate sleeping area that costs nothing extra, where you can lie down after your session.
