Empire runs its treatments on a butler model — someone walks you from the door to the room and handles the arranging, so you are never left working out where to go. The menu is tiered clearly enough that a simple unwind and a full session both have an obvious place on it.

The rooms are what it is really selling. The signature water-bed rooms and hotel-grade theme suites are considerably larger than a standard room elsewhere and come with their own bathroom, so you can shower and rest without moving again. The bath hall is laid in marble and has room to breathe. There is a proper restaurant too — steak, seafood, noodle soup and the soft drinks and beer are all inside your in-house spend; only spirits and wine are extra.

Open 24 hours, with therapists on from 14:00 to 06:00, and you can stay through to morning — arriving late costs you nothing. The bill adds 5% service charge and 5% tourism tax.
